St. Anthony’s Announcements

32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

November 9-10, 2024

Good evening/ Good morning. Thank you for joining us today for this Eucharistic celebration.

Today we celebrate the 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time.   The readings begin on p.224.

  •  The Hoopeston United Methodist Church has asked us to save our plastic shopping bags that we receive at stores. They will use them to make waterproof mats for the homeless. It takes 700 bags to make one mat. Please put the bags in the box at the back of church or bring to the office.

  • The next Faith Formation and Adult Class is Nov. 13th at 5 pm. OCIA will meet at 6:15 pm.

  • T-shirts may be picked up at the hall during office hours on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday from 12-4 or Wednesday from 5-6 during Faith Formation classes.

  • On Sat Nov. 9, there will be an evening of food, fun and games following 5 pm mass. Chili or soup will be provided and you may bring a side dish or dessert to share. All parishioners are welcome to bring a friend. Many games will be available but you may also bring games.

  • The Diocese of Peoria will be celebrating its 150 year Jubilation starting in 2025 and lasting for two years.

  • The annual St. Mary’s Christmas Bazaar is Sat. Nov. 23rd from 9 am to 1pm at the Parish Hall/Gym in Westville. There will be a raffle and concessions. Also, homemade noodles will be for sale.

  • Info to come on the Dec. 8th and Dec. 12th Celebrations of Our Lady of Guadelupe.

  • Please pray for all St. Anthony’s friends and family members who are ill or deceased. This week we especially want to pray for Margaret Feller,  John Lukas, Pat and Jerry Northam, Loretta Alt, Jim Benjamin, and Glenna Diskin.

  • If you have a friend or family member that you would like us to pray for during mass, please contact Debbie in the office or Linda Sheppard.

  • The high school youth group will meet from 4-6pm on Sunday in the parish hall.

  • The liturgy/Eucharistic committee will meet on Monday, November 11 at 6:30 in the hall.

  • Saint Vincent de Paul members will meet on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:15.

  • St. Vincent de Paul will be collecting loose change following Mass today.

  • If you would like to enter a loved one in the book of the dead, the book has been placed on the podium to the left of the altar.

  • There is a group of local seamstresses who are sewing dresses for young girls in Uganda.  If you have fabric or gently used girls t-shirts up to size 12, please bring them to Mass and Pat Foster will deliver them to the women.
