Albs for Altar Servers and Father Ignatius have been ordered. If you would like to purchase an alb or make a donation towards a purchase, you may contact Debbie in the office or drop a donation in an envelope marked, “Albs” into the basket. Thanks so much.
Our goal for this year’s Annual Diocean Appeal is $17,206. To date, we have received pledges and donations for $8525 which is 50% of our goal. Thank you to all who have pledged or made a donation! If we fall short of our goal, the funds will be taken directly out of St. Anthony’s funds. Please consider helping us reach our goal with your donation. Thank you to Angela Layden who created an ADA goal thermometer for us!

Last weekend the Special Events Committee hosted a game night on Saturday after 5PM mass with chili, taco soup, desserts and potluck from parishioners. There were adult as well as kids games and it was all free! It was a fun night of food and fellowship! The committee is now in the process of planning an all parish Christmas Party! Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 14th for another evening of fun, food, games, and a raffle of some very special items! We hope you’ll plan to join us!
If you would like to enter a loved one in the book of the dead, the book has been placed on the podium to the left of the altar.
There is a group of local seamstresses who are sewing dresses for young girls in Uganda. If you have fabric or gently used girls t-shirts up to size 12, please bring them to Mass and Pat Foster will deliver them to the women.
Students who are receiving their First Communion or Confirmation, please sign the attendance sheet in the back of the church showing you attended Mass.

Today we celebrate the 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time. The readings begin on p.224.
The Hoopeston United Methodist Church has asked us to save our plastic shopping bags that we receive at stores. They will use them to make waterproof mats for the homeless. It takes 700 bags to make one mat. Please put the bags in the box at the back of church or bring to the office.
The next Faith Formation and Adult Class is Nov. 13th at 5 pm. OCIA will meet at 6:15 pm.
T-shirts may be picked up at the hall during office hours on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday from 12-4 or Wednesday from 5-6 during Faith Formation classes.
On Sat Nov. 9, there will be an evening of food, fun and games following 5 pm mass. Chili or soup will be provided and you may bring a side dish or dessert to share. All parishioners are welcome to bring a friend. Many games will be available but you may also bring games.
The Diocese of Peoria will be celebrating its 150 year Jubilation starting in 2025 and lasting for two years.
The annual St. Mary’s Christmas Bazaar is Sat. Nov. 23rd from 9 am to 1pm at the Parish Hall/Gym in Westville. There will be a raffle and concessions. Also, homemade noodles will be for sale.

Welcome to our parish family, Joseph Hand, who will be baptized during the 9AM mass on November 3!
There will be no donuts after 9 am mass. The Hand family would like to invite you to celebrate Joseph’s baptism at their home 812 E. Lincoln immediately following mass.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 5. All registered Hoopeston citizens can vote at our parish hall on Tuesday.

Church Holiday Bazaar (Vendor/craft fair)
There will be a church holiday vendor and craft bazaar on October 19th from 9:00-3:00 pm at the parish hall this year. Vendors or crafters may contact Deb Benjamin at the parish office during office hours Monday, Wed., or Thursday from 12:00-4 pm. or may contact Jeanette Andre at 913-522-7022 to reserve a space and complete a contract. One table booth space is approx. 10x10 space for $30.00. A 20x10 (two tables) booth is $50.00. Booths will be given out on a first come first serve basis, particularly in the case of vendors who are selling the same product. Electricity is available and this will be an indoor event, rain or shine. Bathrooms are on site, and the Special Events Committee will have walking tacos for sale. This is a fundraiser for the Special Events Committee.

Father Ignatious will be on a retreat beginning October 6-10. There will be no daily mass Tuesday- Thursday. And no adoration on Thursday.

A special thanks to the Parish Council and Finance Committee for their vision in completing projects this summer! In addition to the recent resurfacing of the parking lot and updating of our air conditioning system in the church, the replacement of the parish hall roof was completed this week. Your service is very much appreciated!
